i dont recognize some of these people!! i hated the 80s -ive told everyone on the internet that tonight -its getting old. but i liked your pictures! happy MM
I must have a completely different understanding of the 80s then the rest of the MMers. Happy Mute Monday!
it's not that I hated the 80's, it's just that I hated what I wore in the 80's.Adam Ant!!! I saw a picture of him recently.... not hawt.Happy Mute Monday!
I will always remember the 80s for the music. Unfortunately, not the ones you have pictured here. OK, Springsteen and Bonjovi because they're Jersey boys and still really big in this neck of the woods. And I never got what Adam Ant was trying for. Some sort of elfish Sousa Band Indian singer guy?Happy MM!
Adam Ant was beautiful when he was young. I'm afraid to Google him now, though, after Boxer's comment.I feel with Boxer on the fashion front. Regardless of whether you were a break out designer like Norma Kamali and Betsy Johnson, or a venerable couture house like YSL, for some reason, EVERYTHING just looked kind of bizarre and cheap. Although, I do confess to owning several Kamali pieces that I now wish I hadn't sold . . .
To everyone: So the fashions were campy, it was dressed up compared to the 70's as far as hippie-wear, and all that glam was the next step away from disco. It was a natural progression. The 80's were a time of freedom for me. Independence and freedom. I loved it.
Bon Jovi. Swoon. he's so cool.
