A Dog and His Boy

We've been calling this dog "Hamlet". He was dumped in our neighborhood a few weeks ago. We think he is probably about half Great Dane (thus, Hamlet) .... but he has taken up residence at a nearby house. A home with a boy. A boy who is at this house about half the time because he goes elsewhere the other half of the time. You know the drill. But the boy calls the dog by some other name now. Because the dog has stayed and now the boy belongs to him. They walk the neighborhood all the time.  Or as they are doing here .... the dog is pulling said boy along on his razor scooter.

It's a sight to make you smile, I promise.

I have long believed animals pick us while allowing us the illusion of being the decision maker.
My Mom has a book of stories of angels being sent as animals to nurture lives thru the tough patches. Maybe Hamlet is just the very thing this boy needs to help balance " the drill".
Smile I did. Pond post might make you smile too.
