Here's mine. TOP GUN. I hated this movie first time I saw it. Loathed it. Thought it was a total rip-off of a known favorite movie (An Officer and a Gentleman). Or it could be because I totally didn't want to be on the date with the guy who asked me to go with him to see it. Anything that guy liked, I was not about to like. Yeah, that's probably more of the real story. The Kymster will remember boring-and-slightly-creepy-neighbor-guy and understand.

Flash forward and now it is a fave movie and we quote it all the time.

Happy Movie Clip Wednesday!

the line I loved was when they're all in the bar and a very young Meg Ryan says "take me home now or lose me forever." I say that to Mr. Boxer. In the old days it was romantic. Nowadays, it's usually when I'm at an event I can't stand and want to leave. :-)

Happy MCW!

I gave it two stars.

With the exception of that Meg Ryan line (back when she was charming and not so trout-pouted), I hated this movie with every fiber of my being. But I love that scene in Rory Kelly's movie, Sleep With Me, where Quentin Tarantino deconstructs Top Gun as a gay parable.

I'm with Moi in that a lot of don't ask, don't tell type of stuff could have been going on in this movie. Even with all it's flaws (a woman who obviously never flew before is a jet fighter tactical analyst) I love this movie. I just recently found out that Kelly McGillis lives in the next town over from me.

And Bwahahaha to Boxer. The Mrs would never offer me that choice.

Happy MCW!

Pam, I'm the opposite. Liked this the first time and hate it now. Hmm. Another twisted theme perhaps. The scene that Moi talks about is flippin awesome. Kelly McGillis was pretty hot before she started her affair with Cheetos. Too harsh? Happy MCW.

I remember boring neighbor guy. And his creepy house filled with wooden ducks. What was that about? Nobody purposefully has a house full of painted/non-painted wooden ducks as the only decor.

Boxer: Best line in the movie and I love your use of it in today's world :)

Joanna: Yep, it is now one of thosemovies that you can join in at any time and say the next line.

Troll: Two stars? Tom and Meg?

Moi: Well, I must find that clip now because I haven't seen it. Hmmmm. I always thought the volleyball scene was a bit ... uh, you know. Not for the girls.

Buzzy: Kelly won't be interested in you these days ;)

MRM: Geez, can't a woman age gracefully these days? Guess not.

Kymmie: Holy smokes how do you even remember that? But I do believe you are right. Just be glad your hubs isn't a duck hunter?
