Movie Clip Wednesday - Political Thriller

Interesting topic! Had to think a bit before choosing just one. We watched "Salt" with Angelina Jolie recently, and it actually reminded me of this movie in a way .... because what you think the movie is about, isn't really what the movie is about.

This clip isn't great, but it will have to do. Jon Voight in 1974. The Odessa File.

Oh and a Mr. Ed clip for MRM.   Mr. and sister Carole had this on a 45.

I've never seen the Odessa File all the way through, but I remember it as being pretty good. When I saw Jon Voight I thought of another god movie for this category - Mission Impossible.

And I sort of remember that scene from Mr. Ed - catchy tune. TV's first Equine Ventrilaquist? Bwahahaha

Happy MCW!

Good afternoon Pam,

I remember liking the Odessa file, funny but your clip doesn't jive with my memory I'm not quite sure why. I think I'm getting old. Although remembering I like the Mr. Ed show likely proves it.

Happy clip day!

I read the book but am pretty sure I've never seen the movie. I'll have to keep an eye out on AMC or TCM. Interesting, though, how much film technology has advanced since then. Those opening comments look like a third grader created them on his iPhone!

Read the book, skipped the movie.
I am a wimp about some movie genres

I've never heard of this movie, which is just about every movie I'm seeing today. Did you like SALT?

I loved Mr.Ed. I think I've seen every episode. I tried to watch one recently and it's not a show that ages well.

Happy MCW!

Buzzy - it is a better movie than it is trailer. Very well done. (TV's first equine ventirloquist -- brilliant!)

Aunty: I had also read the book, a very good one also.

Karl: The trailer clip is crap but I was looking for the "Oak Leaf Cluster" line and couldn't find it.

Moi: Yep, I bet you would like it ... rolls around on TCM once ina while.

63: Thanks for stopping by!

Fishy: It isn't overly graphic ... very 70's style. People get shot but don't bleed kind of thing.

Boxie: We surprisingly did like Salt -- a lot. And hope a sequel comes along. They left it open to do so. And now that I think about it, Jon Voight is her father ... interesting that I felt the movies had elements in common. Hmmm. Get this one when you are in the mood for vintage. And remember. What you think the movie is about, isn't what the movie is about.
